A: The La Verne Fire Department does not accept household hazardous waste. However:

• These items can be dropped off at LA County’s S.A.F.E. Centers or Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection events. View the flyer for more details about locations and schedules.
• Expired or empty fire extinguishers can also often be returned to the manufacturer or dropped off at designated metal recycling facilities. Contact your local recycling center for specifics. For additional guidance, visit CalRecycle.
