The La Verne Fire Department is an American Heart Association Community Training Center. We offer the following Basic Life Support CPR classes:
This course is for members of the healthcare community or those in school for healthcare related fields. The class length is approximately 4 - 6 hours. An AHA Healthcare provider card is issued upon successful completion of the class and is valid for two years. Course Fee is $65.00 per person.
The Healthcare Provider Renewal process can completed in one of two ways.
Heartsaver CPR is intended for the lay responder, teachers, day care providers, and for persons whose employer requires basic CPR training. Heartsaver CPR will teach you the mechanics of cardio pulmonary resuscitation and treatment of an obstructed airway in adults, children and infants. The Heartsaver AED class also covers the use of an Automated External Defibrillator. A Heartsaver CPR Manual will be provided. A certificate is issued following passage of the written and skills examination. The certificate is valid for two years from the date of issue. The program length is approximately 4-6 hours. Course Fee is $45.00 per person.
This class covers all the components of the Heartsaver CPR Course, and adds basic first aid training. This class is designed for businesses or individuals responsible to respond to first aid or cardiac emergencies due to job requirements of regulatory responsibilities. Course Fee is $85.00 per person.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
